Relationships

In graph databases, relationships are the connections between nodes. Per the Neo4j documentation:

A relationship describes how a connection between a source node and a target node are related. It is possible for a node to have [a relationship to itself.

In the UTA data model, we have modeled three types of relationships:

  1. Party data relationships, between a :Party node and an attribute node such as :Phone or :Email, indicated with a Party Data tag,
  2. Party-to-party relationships, between a :Party and another :Party node, indicated in this documentation with a Party-to-Party tag, and
  3. Party category relationships, between a :Party node and a node acting as a categorical variable, indicated with a Party Category tag
