Venues
Standard Terminology
A Venue is a location where a client performs or appears
A parent venue represents the name of a larger venue complex.
- In some cases, the parent is just a container name for a group of related venues at the same location
- However, there may be venues where the parent venue becomes bookable by merging the individual child venues together
A subvenue is a distinctly different bookable space within the location of a larger venue space/complex.
A configuration represents a different capacity/seating arrangement within a venue. If a venue’s capacity is known, that capacity would be a configuration to the venue.
What is a Venue?
Venues are locations where a client performs or appears.
- A venue is defined by its name (the name for which it is known), a physical address, and a configuration.
A venue is also defined as a distinct operating entity with a brand entity.
- Example: The Roxy is a music venue concept, not just the building at 123 Main St.
