Welcome to Authoritative Data

This is the documentation site for UTA's Authoritative Data Product.

The authoritative data product is a set of software tools and services focused on a single, narrowly-focused scope called the party domain.

Parties are the people and organizations that are important to UTA.

The party domain includes these parties and adds the relationships between them, as well as the business rules governing party and relationship creation and modification.

As we built out the party domain, we lifted two additional concepts up to the top level: event and venue. We now no longer consider event or venue to be party roles, but distinct top-level concepts.

Due to its role in integrating all aspects of the agency business, authoritative data requires strict data quality and governance rules, because duplicates and errors can result in cascading incorrect data across the enterprise systems, risking reputational and financial difficulties for UTA. Therefore, business-friendly data management tools and processes are also a part of this product.

Every enterprise is different; UTA is unique. As such, while this design builds on common, accepted practices, It is tuned to the UTA business environment, as well as the size and growth aspirations of the company.

This documentation site is designed for technology professionals that work at UTA. It provides a good introduction to the concepts and design principles used to create the family of tools and services that make up this product. This site is also designed to help streamline the onboarding of new team members.
